Enchantment Under the Sea is Surprisingly the Best ‘Atomic Heart’ DLC Yet

The action-packed adventure continues below the surface.

Mundfish, the developer behind the acclaimed first-person action RPG Atomic Heart, has launched its third premium DLC, Enchantment Under the Sea, which has an Overwhelmingly Positive player rating on Steam. The expansion invites players to plunge into the depths and introduces fresh challenges and narratives that enrich the game’s alternate Soviet universe.

Following the events of “Trapped in Limbo,” protagonist Major Sergey “P-3” Nechayev, accompanied by Ekaterina’s consciousness within his Polymer Glove, discovers the once-thriving city of Chelomey now overrun by rogue robots. The journey leads them beneath the waves to Triton, a submerged facility teeming with scientific mysteries, including experiments on dolphins and mutated aquatic life forms.

Enchantment Under the Sea improves the Atomic Heart experience by introducing new weapons and abilities tailored for underwater combat. Players can expect dynamic encounters that require adaptation to the unique underwater environment. The DLC shifts focus from the base game’s puzzle elements to more action-oriented gameplay.

The adversaries in this DLC are a blend of enhanced robotic entities and mutated sea creatures. Among these threats is the MOR-4Y, a colossal entity lurking in the abyss, whose presence adds a layer of tension and urgency to the player’s mission. Engaging these foes requires not only firepower but also strategic thinking, as the environment can be both an asset and a hindrance.

In a creative collaboration coinciding with the DLC’s release, Mundfish partnered with artist Taras Yoom to unveil limited-edition sculptures titled “Comrade and Union.” These art pieces are seamlessly integrated into the expansion, offering players both in-game and real-world connections to the enriched lore of Atomic Heart.

The new Atomic Heart DLC is available on Steam and PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X.
