Enjoy Studio Reveals Four New Biomes and Explains How Multiplayer Works in Everwind

Journey across a vast skyborne world with friends.

Enjoy Studio recently shared exciting news about Everwind, their upcoming voxel survival game. They revealed more details about multiplayer, the airship building system, and introduced four of the new game’s biomes.

The world of Everwind consists of thousands of floating islands across different biomes, with Grasslands being the most beginner friendly. Another one is the creepy, zombie-infested Swamp biome, which has many unique points of interest such as catacombs, cemeteries, and flooded ruins filled with ancient treasure. The Savanna, on the other hand, is a very dry place with a citadel hidden underground. Two wooded locations were also announced. The Deciduous Forest is dense with trees and animals. Here, you can find dungeons that you can explore, but be careful, as at the end of these you will find the boss of the dungeon, the Skeleton Lord. If you find yourself unprepared and feel like you need an upgrade, the next biome has just the thing. The Rotten Forest is a toxic location with overgrown industrial ruins. However, it will be worth exploring, as you can find lost tech and ability upgrades.

You will be able to play Everwind with up to four friends. One person would need to host a server and send an invite code so others can join. This creates a peer-to-peer connection, which means you can only play as long as the host is online. This is something the devs are looking into, and they have already confirmed that post-launch they will be adding dedicated servers so people can hop on and play whenever they feel like. There are a few ways to communicate online with others. The game will have a chat feature and emotes like waving and pointing.

Unlike many other block-based games that let you build, Everwind gives the player access to a few more options besides the basic square. You can use the shape wheel to pick different shapes. For example, when creating an airship, you can add rounded edges to add some realism or make the roofs of your base slope down smoothly without it looking like you placed a large staircase on it, similar to games like Minecraft. Great news for people who love to decorate their base. There will be over 100 furniture pieces at launch, including chairs, tables, lamps, colored lights, and shelves.

What are you looking forward to learning about Everwind next? Let me know in the comments.
