Keen Studios is celebrating Enshrouded’s second early access anniversary with over 5 million copies sold, and has outlined a clearer path toward the game’s full release and future plans, including a console launch.
Update 0.8 is focused on improving overall polish. The introduction of Adventure Sharing will let players publish and browse user-made worlds directly from within the game. The patch will also bring balancing changes, a round of bug fixes, and targeted quality of life improvements. The new player experience will be smoother and quest progression will feel clearer to help people get into the game without frustration.
The developers are also responding to criticism about combat and promise more tactical depth, smarter enemy behavior, and a broader variety of enemies. They described plans for balancing work and a rework of the great sword so it reads more like slicing than smashing. Importantly, customization options will remain, so both builders and fighters can keep playing the way they prefer.
Performance and optimization are on the agenda, as the studio plans to improve runtime across a wide range of hardware with special attention to lower end machines. Faster shader compilation and other technical fixes aim to reduce friction that some players still see while playing the game.
The roadmap teases deeper creation tools later in the year. By autumn, adventure sharing will expand to include logic elements, enemy spawners, traps and other building blocks. That should let creators design more complex levels and systems without leaving the game. New map areas and fresh enemies are also planned so the 1.0 world feels more complete.

A console release is listed on the roadmap and the studio asked players to keep asking for consoles to show continued demand. Beyond 1.0 the developers made it clear this is not the end of development. Team is commited to ongoing free updates and future paid expansions as the world beyond Emberil grows.
While the developers have not announced an exact release date yet, they confirmed an autumn 2026 release window for Enshrouded’s full release. They explained that a window is more honest than a fixed date, especially after they had to delay the Wake of the Water update.
