I just picked this up not long ago when I was shopping around for cheap horror games on steam to try. I had a lot of fun playing this game with a friend and learning the gameplay loop on the different maps. We spent a couple hours getting the hang of the gameplay and died quite a few times trying to get everything figured out, but each time we learned a bit more. I think I’ll still play this with some others since it can get pretty chaotic and funny, and the challenge of the game is fun even if I end up dying a lot. The revival mechanic is pretty unique and funny, where you take your teammate’s head and have to find another body to put it on. You can see it turning in your hand as they look around too. The game also has a bunch of little collectibles and stuff that get stored in the main lobby area, which gives you more incentive to explore and try to find them.
However, I think there’s definitely room for improvement and expansion. I would love to see more maps, more monsters and especially more lore. Currently, you could probably master the game in just over a few hours, which with the $8.99 price I don’t think that’s too bad. Expanding on the lore and learning more about different Lovecraftian monsters would be awesome, and adding more maps and monsters would make it worth playing more.
I didn’t really experience any bugs or glitches with the game, which was really nice since I know some games get issues like that in multiplayer games. Unfortunately, the game hasn’t been updated since April and I’m not sure if there are more updates planned any time soon. Overall, though, it’s a fun experience, and I’d love to play with more of my friends in the future once the game goes on sale again.
