The developers at the aptly named Enjoy Studio have shared new details, revealing interesting things of their voxel-based survival game, Everwind. They spoke about the lore surrounding the game world, difficulty scaling, combat, and more.
Everwind is set in a future where humanity has mostly fallen, and the planet has split into thousands of floating islands. Each one of these is randomly generated and features its own biomes like a desert or jungle, and some may have various dungeons. As you explore the open world, you uncover what happened and find remnants of not just your civilization’s past, but a few others as well. These floating islands are positioned into three different layers of altitude. The more you ascend in the world, the more difficult the enemies become.

There are a variety of foes to battle, from wild bears and boars to robots and skeletons. Depending on what civilization used to live on the island, that will determine what enemy you face. There are many weapons to choose from, like hammers, daggers, bows, and even magical spells. Each one can be leveled up and enchanted to deal even more damage or swing faster. The combat system is based around a combo and stamina system, adding a layer of strategy and precision when in battle. Once you think you have mastered it, you can delve into the dungeons where you face stronger enemies and can even encounter a large boss.
To get around in Everwind, you need a ship, not just one that travels on water but one that can soar through the sky. Similar to other survival games in this floating island setting, you can build a moving base. In order to unlock new recipes for both building structures and crafting, you need to explore dungeons or buy them from a merchant. All of this can be done either solo or with friends in multiplayer.
What aspect of the game sounds most interesting to you? Let me know in the comments.
