In a recent interview Greg Cummings, community manager at game development studio Far From Home, revealed some new information about their upcoming first person action survival game Forever Skies.
Story
In the interview, Greg Cummings mentioned that the team will focus on the gameplay during early access and that the story will take a bit of a back seat until Forever Skies is closer to full release. This does not mean there will not be a story whatsoever. We already have some information about the story from the trailers and the Steam store page. Humans messed something up and the whole world is now covered in a cloud of toxic dust. It has now been a few hundred years and you are sent back to earth to find a cure for a mysterious illness that your family has gotten.
World Generation

Because of the toxic dust cloud that looms over the earth, the world of Forever Skies has been split into two parts. The large and near endless skies of the above world. The sky is mostly randomly generated except for a few story related locations. The surface underneath the dust cloud, however, is handmade and not randomly generated at all. Instead, the surface will be a linear part of the world and can be entered by going down an elevator. The elevators are most likely to be found in locations that are not randomized above the dust cloud.
Day and Night
Like most other survival games Forever Skies will feature a day and night cycle as well as a weather system. There will be different dangers to deal with during the day than there are during the night. Nothing else was said about this, so it will be interesting to see what this entails. While not much was said about the weather system either, it seems that those dangerous lightning storms we saw in the trailer are not the worst thing that can happen above the dust cloud.
PvP
We know that Forever Skies will get four player co-op sometime after the launch of early access. So of course some people wanted to know if the game will have some sort of PvP. And the answer is no, Forever Skies will not get PvP. Their plan is to have players work together on one ship.
This was all the new information we get on Forever Skies. The game is planned for release later this year. Are you excited to give Forever Skies a try?
