Some time ago, developer Far From Home announced that the release of Forever Skies would be moved to early 2025. This launch window remains unchanged, and in just two short weeks we can expect the official release date and the 2025 roadmap for version 1.0 to be revealed.

The upcoming release marks a significant evolution in the game world. Instead of a repetitive procedural layout, the environment will be divided into distinct biomes and offer greater consistency and depth. In the Silent City biome, locations and resources are carefully curated, while the Overgrown Ruins biome introduces specific rules for natural progression. This new design not only enriches the visual landscape but also smooths out gameplay progression, allowing you to experience tech upgrades and new challenges in a more organic manner.

New locations are also on the horizon. The Workshop is a reimagined space formerly known as the Tech-Bay, which will receive a fresh makeover that will delight players familiar with early game footage. Here, airship manufacturing once thrived, and it now serves as a hub for critical airship upgrades, lore-rich discoveries, and engaging puzzles. With an expansive landing area complete with scaffolding, you can expect to experiment with innovative Airship Balloon designs.

Additional points of interest include revamped Isolated Supply Containers that will offer resources for researching entire categories of airship blueprints via dedicated Research Computers, granting you unprecedented control over your upgrade path. Meanwhile, evocative murals scattered throughout the world invite exploration, each adding a unique chapter to the lore, while colossal lifeforms promise new rewards on your journey.

Forever Skies is currently available at a 40% discount until March 13 on Steam, and this is a great opportunity to take advantage of such a generous offer. The developers revealed that they have no plans to increase the base price after Early Access, although discounts following the 1.0 release will remain lower for quite some time.
