Green Hell has released one of their most transformative updates to the game to date with their Storage and Transportation update.
One of my biggest issues with Green Hell has always been the rigidity of the storage system in the game; you could only store a certain type of material in a certain type of storage container. But that time is over.
They have reworked their small and big stone stands and even renamed them to baskets, as you can now store more items than just the stones in their respective receptacles, which now hold various types of items such as bones, stones, planks, green coconuts, and more, allowing a much more intuitive base layout for crafting purposes. But they didn’t stop there.
Universal leaf and wood stands have also been added that have two different sides, so now you can hold banana or palm leaves together, and you can store wood in bamboo stands and even bamboo in wood stands.

The latest update for Green Hell takes transportation to the next level. Just don't forget that with new technology come new challenges.#greenhell @GreenHellGame pic.twitter.com/ashfEEBzCs
Creepy Jar, the developers behind Green Hell, have even given me the items I have been screaming for, for years, and that’s shelves. I love to be organized, but the old system didn’t let me, and they didn’t add just one type of shelf, but too. One is your standard large shelf, which will allow us to store many different items, so we can make our own infirmary with different types of bandages or seeds for gardening. And one of my favorites is the hanging shelf, which is small but allows you to maximize your wall space and even show off some trophies. And many storage areas also have increased storage size as well.
Now, one of the issues I also have is that we have a lot of storage space, but it takes forever to bring all your foraged items back to base. It would be good if we had a way to haul this stuff back to the base. What? They did? They added a sled? That’s right!! Now we can craft a sled that will allow us to pack up to two different large items on it, like wood logs and large rocks, and be able to drag them back to base with ease instead of holding only a few and making several trips back and forth.
They have even added an elevator to allow us to quickly get lots of items into high-rise tree forts instead of climbing up a million ladders. Also, a quick pickup feature has been introduced, and you can turn it on in the settings menu. It might break immersion a little bit, as items will appear in your backpack faster than your hand can crab them. But when you’re trying to survive, time is a precious commodity.
Green Hell continues to get better with each patch, and I think this is one of my favorites so far. What are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments below.
