Meeting a lot of new people in the last Housewarming update was great, but something was missing. Mandragora, the developers behind the cozy survival game I Am Future, felt the same way and released the Relationship update. This major content patch introduces a new area, improves the minions, and adds more depth to your new friends.

The main focus of this update is the relationship system. You’ll be able to develop relationships with various NPCs you encounter on the rooftops. These relationships are built not by being friends for many years and sharing stories, but by giving gifts, as money speaks louder than words when it comes to making friends. You can find these gifts while going on expeditions, playing mini-games, or completing daily tasks. There are multiple stages to your relationship with each individual, and each level rewards you with various items.

If you are up for some exploration, the hotel in the entertainment zone is now accessible, where you can relax, swim, sing songs with your friends, and enjoy many other activities. Several new NPCs have also been added.

The developers have introduced new modules, including tool upgrades and a weather forecast module, to help you better plan your adventures in the wider world. They have also improved the behavior of the robot minions and added a few new jobs to their list. Robots can now water your plants, repair damaged buildings, and refill sprinklers. Additionally, their battery life has been increased, allowing them to work for even longer.

If you’ve been waiting for the story of I Am Future to continue, this update has you covered. There are plenty of new secrets to discover and questions to be asked. Similar to previous major updates, this one will not conclude the story; for that, we will most likely have to wait until update 1.0. However, it is unclear when we can expect this, as the developers have not provided a timeline.
