Join Us Announces Launch Window in Chaotic Gameplay Trailer

Some of the game’s systems were inspired by Fallout.

The upcoming sandbox survival game Join Us, has players step into the shoes of a cult leader. What is your mission? Build a devoted following while preparing for the apocalypse. It appears Wolf Haus Games crafted a unique perspective to the survival genre, that blends base building, resource management, and follower growth. And all of that with a singleplayer narrative? Where do I sign up for this game?

The trailer spotlights the teachings system alongside base-building demos and outlines a rich narrative campaign featuring roughly 35 main missions, 25 side stories, and three procedural varieties. An impressive 12,430 dialogue lines were voiced overall with 1,448 reserved for the campaign alone. Finally, eerie supernatural and sci-fi were also confirmed, with UFO manifestations and Cthulhu like ending that might mean there are more mysteries for players to uncover. Are we seeing an Eldritch survival game in the making? I hope so.

Your will find followers are your ultimate asset. Practically every soul you cross paths with, from ordinary civilians to fierce adversaries is a possible recruitment. After they pledge allegiance, match them to roles that suit their talents perfectly. Whether that’s tending crops, patching wounds, brokering deals, or engaging in battle. Every individual harbors specific requirements and will react strongly to your teachings. If you let unhappiness fester, they may leave.

Construction and oversight of your base form another vital pillar of gameplay. You can design the entire headquarters from scratch, incorporating living quarters, fortifications, and functional workspaces, all while directing followers to keep everything operational. Efficient planning of supplies and duties fuels your cults expansion.

Yet success could draw unwanted attention: hostile external groups, pesky law enforcement squads, and powerful state entities may try to crush your movement. You will need to arm yourself and your flock with everything from reliable shotguns and heavy miniguns to the delightfully weird snake launcher, which unleashes actual serpents upon enemies. Please call it a Set Cannon.

At the heart of it sits a belief system, which is meant to be a flexible teaching mechanic. Skip preset cult templates. Instead, evolve your doctrine through chosen decree. The game will offer elements such as mandatory fasting ceremonies, cannibalistic rites, or extraterrestrial obsessions involving UFOs. As progress unfolds, new doctrines become available. You will be able to mix and match to craft unique effects on how members recruit, stay motivated, and behave day-to-day. Developers also revealed that they were inspired by the early Fallout games, where skills and upgrades weren’t purely positive. For example, you can throw feasts, which makes it easier to recruit followers, but if you stop throwing them, your followers can become mad.

Join Us supports both singleplayer and co-op, allowing up to four friends to join you. The game will also offer dedicated server sypport at 1.0 launch, including a variety of world customization possibilities.

PC debut is confirmed for Fall 2026. Developers will share the precise launch date this summer. For now, however, we wait. I for one can’t wait to sip some of that Kool-Aid and join the cult of awesomeness that these developers appear to have unleashed.
