Last Oasis Returns to Its Roots in Season 6 Update

After 6 years in Early Access, devs aim to restore player trust.

Developer Donkey Crew is about to launch the first chapter of Season 6, and they believe this update will be a real turning point for Last Oasis. The team says this chapter is the result of years of work and thousands of hours of testing and community feedback. Their goal is to create something that feels both familiar and new.

A major focus of this season is events. Meteors have been reworked, every map now includes unique team based points of interest, and event tiles are meant to drive progression. The aim was to give players reliable reasons to meet and fight or to pursue shared goals. Testers reported that while events still need polish in looks and some gameplay, they generally work as intended and create more moments to interact.

On the PvP side the team introduced several guardrails intended to help new players or small groups stay competitive. One example is the Anti Personnel Turret which offers automated defenses for walkers. The update also limits how power scales with numbers by prioritizing small and medium clan tiles and by adding crew and power caps for walkers. Balance and mechanical tweaks should make it harder to fully wipe a walker deck or to zero out a walker in a single fight.

Under the new chapter model players should expect full server wipes and resets every 8 weeks. That means Chapter One is planned to run until early May, with fresh starts becoming part each chapter. For many long time players this will change how they play, and sets clearer expectations for progression and balance.

Unfortunately, the launch will not include Xbox compatibility. A certification issue remains unresolved and the studio is working on a fix. They say Xbox functionality will return as soon as the problem is solved, but for now console players on that platform will need to wait.

Donkey Crew is clear that this is not the final stop, and while improvements have been made across systems, there is still much to do. The update aims to be a step toward rebuilding trust with the community and inviting players back into Last Oasis, where they can help shape the game’s future alongside the developers.
