Bossa Studios has dropped a new trailer and revealed the release date for their upcoming title. Lost Skies is a survival crafting game set in a vast sky world, with a focus on cooperative play rather than an MMO setting, as seen in their previous game, World Adrift.
The Early Access version will allow exploring the first region known as The Outskirts. In this area, players will find not only the developer created environments, but also community-created islands with a variety of enemy types, puzzles, and will be able to encounter the first Herald boss. In addition, players will have the opportunity to build and upgrade their own skyship. The core gameplay loop, which includes exploration, crafting, and upgrading, will be fully accessible from the start.
Regular content updates, bug fixes, and quality-of-life improvements will be an integral part of the Early Access phase. The developers promise a community-driven approach, taking player feedback seriously. A public roadmap will be available closer to release, so that players can track upcoming changes and see how their input is shaping the future of the game. The duration of Early Access will depend on ongoing feedback, feature development, and overall polish. Although a full 1.0 release is scheduled for later this year, this timeline may change based on the Early Access experience.

Bossa Studios has defined the key features and systems that will be part of the final product. They plan to expand The Outskirts region and introduce a new Island Creator Region called Midlands. Additional planned updates include balancing resource management, combat, and progression, as well as introducing new features such as a maple table and a harpoon. Bug fixes, performance optimization, and quality of life improvements will continue to be a priority throughout Early Access. For the full version, players can expect an expanded world that includes windwall crossing, new Heralds, additional creatures, ship parts, and a game world that is significantly larger.
Lost Skies will launch into Early Access on Steam in less than two weeks, on April 18, 2025.
