As the year comes to an end, we’ve got a new 0.5.2 update for Nowhere: Mysterious Artifacts. This update brings new mechanics, a large map, combat improvements, and more.
Swimming has been added to the game to allow not only a new way to get around the map, but also new areas to explore beneath the water. With this new addition, it will allow us in a future update to find bootable items, resources, and even underwater events.
Climbing is also a new mechanic that was added to the game, which now allows us to climb up ladders, which can now be found at certain POI’s around the map.
Combat has received some enhancements as well with larger hitboxes for melee items, enemies now react when hit with melee weapons, or shot, which provides a more realistic and fulfilling combat experience.
The map is now four times larger than the previous map, along with some new areas to visit, such as Duga Radars, Root Mountain Asylum, and more, and older areas and POIs have been completely redesigned.

Another awesome feature of the update is the in-game map itself, which is now fully customizable, allowing you to apply a huge assortment of map markers and different colors to keep track of any interesting finds or resources to come back to collect.
Inventory management was a little bit of an issue in the earlier versions of the game, but no longer. Auto-stacking has been added, along with the ability to take-all or store-all items into storage containers, and over 200 items in the game have been resized to fit into storage more accurately.
Notes were also one of those odd things to find; sometimes they would provide you with hints on where to go. Information about the lore and what the hell is going on, but they also took up inventory space. The developers heard our pleas to make this more manageable, and they have done just that. We now have a note journal in your inventory area to keep track of all the notes found around the world.

A new rendering system was added for better graphics, along with allowing it to run smoother. The game also added a new mission system to assist you in keeping you on track, and a redesigned UI to bring the interface up to date.
And lastly, they have added more detailed background lore to the game, which will hopefully allow us to unravel the story and truly find out what happened on this island.
At launch, the game was lacking, but it appears that the developers are working diligently to improve it and add new content. It will be interesting to see what they come up with next.
Which features do you want to see added next? Let me know in the comments below.
