Minecraft Unites Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in a New DLC

TMNT boys are back, and more blocky than ever. Cowabunga!

Minecraft has teamed up and just released its newest DLC, which is sure to be a blast from the past. You and up to three other friends can choose one of the four iconic turtle-shelled heroes: Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and, of course, Michelangelo.

Unlike Normal DLC that just enhances the basic game, this DLC is a complete overhaul and is itself its own game, turning the blocky open-world survival game into a retro Beat-em-up action game. You will be entering a custom, hand-created world and exploring Minecraft-built environments like the Turtles’ Lair and New York City.

While you adventure around New York City, shouting Cowabunga and sampling Pizza around the city, you will face off with iconic baddies such as Leatherhead, Krang, and even the menacing Shredder.

With the DLC comes the new Handcrafted New York Citty world, 16 different skins, and a free Turtle T-shirt in the dressing room.

This DLC comes right alongside the soon-to-be released new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem movie, coming to a theater near you on August 2nd.

Microsoft, the company behind Minecraft, is also currently offering players a chance to win limited-edition pizza-scented TMNT Series X/S controllers as a prize for its latest online contest on Xbox Game Pass Twitter profile.

Minecraft, which was released over 12 years ago, has had several licensed DLCs in the past, such as Toy Story, Sonic the Hedgehog, Jurassic Park, and even Angry Birds. So, it will be interesting to see what players create with this new texture pack.

You can get the TMNT DLC through the Minecraft Marketplace.
