Outbreak Island Reveals New Details in the Latest Gameplay Trailer

Mutants, trucks and mega crabs, oh my!

Tiny Magicians has released a new gameplay trailer for Outbreak Island to tempt us with some of the upcoming features of the game.

Outbreak Island, which was formerly named Withstand, is an open world survival craft game where you take on the role of a reporter who is investigating a plane crash on a mysterious partially submerged island called Erlsen. Besides the plane crash, there is also the fact that half of the population has seemingly vanished, with the other half having undergone some grotesque mutations. Once you get on the island, you realize that there might not be any way off the island and that you must find a way to survive.

Some of the things we have been able to extrapolate from the teaser trailer are that there appear to be several unique locations to explore. Some of these locations are an eerie lakeside cabin, a farm with a huge plane in the corn field (maybe the plane we are looking for?), a run-down factory by what appears to be the ocean, a rail yard, and even a shipping yard. Due to the extreme weather conditions, many parts of the island remain flooded, and you can explore underwater locations such as the submerged factory.

These locations didn’t seem to be deserted because we encountered raider groups, military personnel, and some terrifying zombies, including a Mega Mutant Crab-type creature with terrifying red eyes—not two, but perhaps twenty.

But even with all the horrible things on the island, and the population being mostly gone, it seems there are a few houses on the market that you are able to make your own, a little fixer upper that you can make all cozy, maybe even build the house of your dreams, and even build a base. Complete with a farming system.

Without a garage, what house would be complete? In the trailer, we see that you can upgrade your garage and build custom vehicles with many varieties of add-ons, attachments, and colors.

During the day, you will find all sorts of creatures about, but it appears that when the night falls, and the odd green beam is visible in the night sky, the power comes back on. But that’s also when the most ferocious creatures come out to play, and you have to defend your base with an assortment of weapons, such as crossbows, flamethrowers, rifles, and even a rocket launcher, but the one item that sticks out the most in the trailer is your camera, as it appears that you are able to stun, or distract the monsters with the flash.
