Creepy Survival With a Great Atmosphere
    7
    • Pros
    • Great atmosphere
    • Creepy nights
    • Fun exploration
    • Base building
    • Addictive survival loop
    • Cons
    • Early access issues
    • Clunky mechanics
    • Can feel empty
    • Repetitive grind
    • Weak enemy AI

I tried Outbreak Island mainly because the whole abandoned island survival horror vibe looked interesting, and honestly the atmosphere ended up being the best part. Exploring during the day while preparing for the night actually kept me tense, especially once the monsters start appearing. It gave me a mix of The Forest and Resident Evil vibes at times.

The survival and base building loop is pretty addictive too, but the game still feels rough in places since it’s early access. Some mechanics are clunky and the world can feel a bit empty after longer sessions. Still, I had more fun with it than I expected.
