Developer InSpades has announced an open test for their upcoming survival title, Everlast: Undying Tale, a game heavily inspired by sandbox MMO classics such as RuneScape.
Set on the strange world of Sarkis, the game casts you as a Pyrrhic, a survivor brought back by Death and bound to a curse that keeps you from dying. That curse is more than a story beat. It grows with you, changing how your character behaves and adding new options over time.
You can expect fast paced combat and the possibility to learn up to 16 skills and mix them the way you want. There are no fixed classes, so a player who focuses on crafting can still pick up fighting or stealth later. You can play alone, join friends, or host a large community server for hundreds of players.
The playtest focuses on the starting area called Kal Crossing, where testers will see a few early questlines and the tools for gathering, crafting, and fighting. The team wants to see how joining and hosting worlds holds up under real player load.
Creators free to stream and share clips because there is no NDA for this open test. For bugs and feedback, the developer asks players to post on Steam or reach out on Discord so reports can be tracked.
This build is early and you should expect rough edges. The developers say the playtest aims to stress core systems and multiplayer, and player reports will guide future changes. For players who grew up on classic RPGs and like the idea of a sandbox where choices matter, this test offers a clear glimpse at what Everlast is trying to become.
If you want to join the first public playtest, head to the game’s Steam page and click the Request Access button. Access will be granted automatically on March 19, and the test will run until March 22.
The team has set Q3 2026 as the planned release window, but since Everlast: Undying Tale is still in the early stages of development, it can be delayed to 2027.
