I jumped into Sker Ritual not knowing exactly what to expect, but it turned out to be a solid round-based co-op shooter. It’s very much in the style of COD Zombies, with waves of enemies, objectives, and plenty of chaos. The creepy atmosphere works well, especially with the dark environments and eerie enemy designs. Playing with friends was a blast, though solo felt a lot tougher. The game can get repetitive after long sessions, but it scratches that arcade survival itch nicely.
Sker Ritual is a single-player coop shooter where you have to face waves of enemies while completing objectives to delve more into the lore of the mission. It has different difficulties so the player can play according to their skills. You can play it alone or with friends. The coop mode allows up to 4 players. The game is well optimized as I could play it with a GT 1030 2GB with 50 fps stable. It didn’t crash at any moment of my gameplay so it ran normally. I would dare to say it would have no problems with high-end pcs.
The enemies are classified as normal, special, and mini-bosses. Special and mini-bosses have their own abilities. They will always try to catch you and inflict damage so you need to always be on watch.
As you kill enemies you earn points that you can use to buy weapon upgrades. You can buy pistols, sniper rifles, shotguns, rifles, and other type of guns. The guns have good design with good animations. With your points, you can also unlock places within the map you are playing. You can explore different places on the maps and learn more about the game lore. The game is more linear than open world but that is fine as it fits its mechanics.
The cosmetics are offered as paid DLC, but I would prefer that that stuff be unlockable by leveling up. It can’t be helped as the devs need funds to bring updates and more content to the game.
The game has some similarities with the zombie mode of Call of Duty. But the difference is that this game is way cheaper than COD. Definitely Sker Ritual is a good choice for those who like to fight hordes of enemies and enjoy a compelling story. Grab it when it has a discount or buy full price.
The game is basically a COD like shooter where you earn points by killing enemies, the famous zombie mode. Those points are used to buy weapons and unlock new places. The enemies are not zombies but monsters that will chase you and hit you until you are down. The weapons look nice and even better when you upgrade them. You can explore further the mission’s map with your points. I played some games alone and it was funny. You can try beating the mission alone but it is more doable and faster if you do so with someone else. It’s more affordable than an actual Call of Duty game, so give it a try if you like horde based shooters. Sometimes it gets repetitive as you only kill and kill your way but its that is your cup of tea go ahead.
