The studio known for Green Hell is stepping into science fiction with StarRupture, a survival and base-building game that puts long-term planning at the center of its experience. The developers have also revealed a roadmap that will shape the game’s Early Access experience.
In the game, players take on the role of a convict sent to the remote planet Arcadia-7. You are there to work, not to be saved, extracting resources for distant corporations that see human lives as replaceable. The planet itself is shaped by a dying star called the Ruptura, which regularly unleashes massive firestorms that burn large sections of the surface. These events are more than visual moments. They reshape the terrain, destroy structures, and force players to rethink how and where they build.
Arcadia-7 is split into several biomes filled with raw materials, hostile wildlife, and traces of earlier expeditions that did not end well. Choosing where to settle is an important decision, since access to resources and exposure to threats can change dramatically after a Ruptura event. Learning the land becomes just as important as mastering the tools.
Resource gathering feeds into one of StarRupture’s defining systems: industrial automation. Progress depends on building production chains that turn raw materials into advanced components. Conveyors, processing stations, and power management all need careful planning. A poorly designed setup can slow progress or collapse under pressure, while an efficient layout rewards patience and foresight.
Combat and defense add constant pressure to these systems as alien creatures roam the planet and will attack both players and their bases. Weapons, ammunition, and defensive structures must be crafted and maintained, often with limited resources. Survival elements such as health management and environmental hazards further complicate each encounter, especially when players are caught unprepared during planetary disasters.
StarRupture supports both solo play and cooperative sessions with up to four players. Working as a group allows teams to divide tasks, manage production more efficiently, and defend larger bases. Creepy Jar has emphasized that community feedback will guide development throughout Early Access, with balance changes and feature adjustments shaped by player input.

The new roadmap outlines a broad range of planned updates. Ongoing work focuses on performance, building systems, combat feel, world detail, and interface improvements. New features planned for Early Access include wildlife, a custom game mode with adjustable difficulty, expanded exploration mechanics, controller support, additional buildings, and new combat options. Content updates are expected to add map expansions, new weapons, resources, corporation levels, and story elements, alongside quality of life improvements such as better co-op balance, accessibility options, and dedicated servers.
Looking toward version 1.0, Creepy Jar plans to introduce endgame content, a new biome tied to a Frost Wave event, deeper narrative elements, and Steam achievements.
StarRupture is now available in Steam Early Access on Steam for the very reasonable price of $19.99.
