Developer QI Games has released the Steam page for their Dead Matter, an upcoming survival game set in the Canadian Alberta Rocky Mountains.
At launch, Dead Matter will have the town of Dead Man’s Flat and its surrounding areas to explore. Even though one town does not sound like a lot, the real-life town it is based on (which has the same name) is considered a small human settlement. The developers assured their fans it will be a more extensive area than you would expect. Over the course of development, more locations will be added.
Your goal in Dead Matter is to survive the infected. These are zombie-like beings and will attack you on sight. When an enemy is alerted it will make as much noise as it can to alert others in the vicinity, creating a horde. Stealth will be a huge part of the game when you go from building to building to not attract the infected.

To survive you will need to loot houses and other locations for food, water, weapons, and more. Each location will have its own loot pool when opening a container. A hunter’s cabin for example will have loot that you would expect to find there. The gear you find has different rarities. When you get further into the game the chance of finding a green or purple-tiered weapon or armor will be higher.
The developers are currently working hard on the medical system for Dead Matter. When getting damaged you will need to bandage or disinfect the specific body part that was hit. You will also need to clean the wounds before treating them (to avoid an infection most likely).
Dead Matter can now be wishlisted on Steam and will get a closed alpha in the near future.
