Survival RPG ‘Chernobylite 2’ Drops New Gameplay Trailer Alongside Prologue Release

This is your opportunity to try the game before its release!

We are getting close to the release of The Farm 51’s highly anticipated post-apocalyptic survival RPG, Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone. However, for those who cannot wait until March 6, you are in luck. Not only did we get a new trailer, but the developers also released a demo during this week’s Steam Next Fest.

The introduction will take you around one or two hours of playtime, depending on whether you rush the story quests or take time to explore the Exclusion Zone. Most of the map will be off-limits during this demo, but there should be enough points of interest to loot. The prologue focuses on Cole Grey’s story as he joins the Planewalker program and eventually makes his way into an alternate world, the Exclusion Zone. Here, you have to fight for your life, build a shelter, and complete the task of finding the Chernobylite.

From the start of the game, you have the option to pick a class. There are six to choose from: Eliminator, Recon, Emissary, Technician, Scientist, and Chernomancer. Each class has different stats and playstyles, with some focusing on melee attacks while others are better suited for ranged combat. Unique to each class are specific bonuses, such as camouflage or the ability to convert damage taken into health, which sounds very handy in many situations. If you choose a class and regret it later, do not worry, as there will be a location where you can change classes during the game.

They recently added a first-person mode to Chernobylite 2, and while this is part of the demo, it may not look right in some situations. Players have also noticed that this prologue is rather large, at over 100GB. According to the developers, this is because they had to ship it with most of the game to allow players to keep their save file on release, which is great if you don’t want to start over.

Have you played the demo yet?
