The developers at Crema are working on a new survival crafting game where players can explore a world filled with different biomes, as well as find over 200 tamable creatures.
Temtem: Pioneers is not added to its growing library of Temtem inspired titles. Here, however, they have outlined a major adjustment in how combat works, separating it from the turn-based structure of the original game to a real-time system that puts players in direct control of their creatures. Instead of issuing commands from a menu, players will actively move, attack, and dodge as their Temtem during encounters. Battles are designed to feel immediate, with no pauses for turns and limited time to react.
Core stats still play a central role, though they’ve been streamlined and adapted for the faster pace. Health, attack, defense, stamina, and speed all return, but their functions have been adjusted. Speed now determines movement and dash cooldowns rather than turn order, while stamina influences how quickly abilities become available again. The split between physical and special attack types has been removed, consolidating damage into a single attack stat.

Each creature still has base stats however, and are randomized individual values, known as SVs. These values combine to determine overall effectiveness, making captured Temtem vary in strength. Traditional training values are gone, replaced by a separate progression system that improves species performance over time.
Combat itself is built around two main actions. Close-range combos allow players to chain three quick hits together, with elemental advantages still affecting damage. Techniques, on the other hand, are more varied abilities that can deal damage, apply effects, or alter the battlefield. These abilities are limited to four per Temtem and are governed by cooldowns rather than turn order, meaning timing becomes critical.
Movement plays a larger role than before. Each Temtem has at least one dash ability, used to reposition or avoid incoming attacks. Encounters are expected to require constant motion, as players balance offense with evasion in real time.
Equipment systems are also returning with some changes. Gears provide passive bonuses but must now be crafted from gathered materials, and each item can only be equipped by one Temtem at a time. Synergies, which enhance abilities under certain conditions, are now tied to a new item type called Trinkets. These unlock improved versions of techniques when paired correctly.
Outside of combat mechanics, Temtem: Pioneers is confirmed to support both solo and cooperative play, with up to six players sharing a session. It will not follow a live service model and is planned as a complete experience with a defined end. A full release is currently targeted for 2028, though this can change as development continues.
