Hey everyone, so before we talk about a little bit of the drama that surrounds this game, let’s begin to talk about The Day Before gameplay that I played at my friend’s house. It was definitely not as promised in the trailers with missing content, gameplay, missing physic features, graphics was not up to part compared to the trailers. When I was playing, there was not much to do and no story. This game didn’t have much going for it. The pro and cons are what killed this game. Servers are shutting down very soon, no point of buying it. Have a good night.
Ever since the first trailer of The Day Before, controversy always followed this game. From unimaginable interest and focus of players to becoming one of the most wishlisted game on steam to getting removed from Steam once with multiple delays, it finally released on early access on steam on December 7, 2023.
And the release went exactly the way people expected and even beyond that with a genre change. People having connection issues, which is fair for early access. But people are also having multiple crashes for seemingly randomly things, getting softlocks which required restart, losing items randomly, bad hit detection, bad AI. The player can’t even jump over a small fence, no vaulting.
And the thing is even if you ignore the bugs, let’s say, you have a perfect start, you had no connection issues or no glitch of falling to void and dying or having crash, the tutorial is still extremely slow paced. You get to the city, the city is too small even though it is claimed to be large. There is barely any loot and it’s difficult to even tell if something has loot, often having 1 item. The tasks or quests are very mundane that request to find simple things. The game barely has a proper UI. You can’t even tell how much damage you took, you have to stop and check on a different screen to see your health.
The game is years behind of ever becoming what it could be or at least even become what the devs promised.
