The First Descendant Announces a Beta and Reveals a New Trailer

A free-to-play cooperative shooter you don't want to miss this year.

NEXON Games has revealed the date for a Steam beta release for their upcoming third-person RPG shooter, The First Descendant, alongside a new teaser trailer.

Teaser Trailer Breakdown

The teaser trailer showed a close-up look at a few of the playable characters and multiple locations we explore in the game. Each character will have their own special powers that you can use during combat. It seems like we can expect ice, poison, and electric powers.

There were a few different locations shown in this teaser. The overgrown city and the ruined city that is on fire made a return from the announcement trailer, but they did not show anything new here. We did get to see a new snowy area which looks like a fortress with a huge destroyed building that seems to house a large device we need to either destroy or take over. Also, we get to see a very quick glimpse of what looks like a cave.

How to Join the Beta

A beta test has been announced to come to Steam. You can now go over to the Steam page and apply for a chance to get to play the game early. It will be available from the 20th of October till the 26th of October 2022.

The First Descendant will be a free-to-play game that will focus on cooperation with up to four players. It will also feature a single player, but the game is balanced around co-op. It will have multiple unique and charming characters with a variety of powers, including an arsenal of weapons that you can use to take on huge monsters.
