I played The Infected and found it tense and gritty, with solid survival elements, but it also feels rough around the edges. The combat and atmosphere can be exciting, especially in close calls, but repetitive missions and a lack of variety hold it back from feeling truly great
The infected is a kind of mix between Green Hell and The forest to my point of view. This game has a really good potential, but is in early stage development. However, it is yet clearly playable, and has already a reasonable number of items to be crafted. As someone who has been playing open world and survival games for a long time, The Infected is a game that I like both in terms of its difficulty and addictiveness. First of all, the combat system is a bit unbalanced. For example, if you want to hit a bear with a spear, you have to take damage from the bear. (Yes, the distance is quite short and the hitbox is not balanced) The game is not the kind of game that you can play and get rid of in a short time. It includes a lot of farming and grinding. I can say that the bandage system is a bit different compared to other games. You save yourself from dying by applying a bandage to the part you are injured, your health does not regenerate. There are two things you can do to regenerate your health; one is sleeping, the other is eating cucumbers. Another important feature is that I cannot say it is good or bad because it varies from person to person. The game does not provide you much guidance, you have to solve the events somehow. For example, do you want to get one of the 25 ropes? You can test the entire keyboard.
As a result, the game offers a nice and long game time, meaning you are constantly trying to do new things instead of the same things. It has a huge map, and the game makes you spend a week researching all of them. The craft part is also quite useful. While you are doing this and that to make life easier and sustainability easier, you suddenly realize that a month has flown by. Unfortunately, since it is early access, I cannot recommend it to old computer users. Since the game is not a full version yet, it has many aspects to develop. It is a very good game for tough survival players.
