V Rising Reveals Major Early Access Launch Details and Beyond

Questions about the game price, microtransactions, DLCs, and more have been answered.

In a recent interview, Marketing Director Johan Ilves answered various community questions about V Rising early access launch and what players can expect in the future.

There were a lot of questions, from simple questions about character customization to future content or possible DLC.

V Rising will have a ton of customizability from your character, name, and of course your big gothic castle. You will be able to create your own private server that will have lots of settings to alter your game experience.

Building your castle seems to be one of the main aspects of the game. While it is stated you can not build different floors, you can use the terrain to have some elevation in your build. There will be a fair bit of decorative items, floors, and walls to build the best looking castle on the server.

It seems that protecting your castle from enemies will be the main focus of the game on the PvP servers. Defending comes really into play with a new feature that was announced where you and your clan have to collect three relics called soul shards and bring them back to your home base to get a special ability. Soul shards are late game items and there are only three of them in each server so people would most likely fight over them. You can obtain these relics by defeating the three most powerful bosses of the game.

Raiding other people’s bases only seems to be allowed within a six hour time window that is set by the server owner.

You will be able to join an official server, rent a private server or host it yourself. It sounds like you can invite friends from your Steam friends list, so hosting a private server may go through the steam servers we all know and love.

An important question they got is how the full release will eventually differ from the early access that is going to be released on May 17th. The developers have a vision of what they want in the game and will share more details in the future.

The price point was also discussed. At early access launch, V Rising will be $19,99. The price will most likely increase when the game hits full release. Microtransactions and season passes were also asked and how they definitely did not want to include microtransactions in the early access, there are already plans for DLC. The developers are planning to reveal more details about the first DLC very soon.

There were a few smaller questions like how will shapeshifting work, can you zoom in the camera, use in-game voice chat, or can you pet cats.

Shapeshifting just works by simply selecting what you want, and when you get hit or perform any action you will switch back to a vampire. You will be able to zoom in the camera and the game will have an in-game voice chat.

Sadly, it sounds like you will not be able to pet the cats. But if you own cats, you know they would probably not wanna be pet by a vampire anyway.

The final question was probably one of the best anyone could have asked and the response just made my day.

And one more question, “Will servants feed me grapes and rub me down with oil massages?” Johan Ilves has responded, “Are you sure you want this guy touching you?”

Honestly a missed opportunity. I think we all can agree on that.

What do you think about the game price and other revealed details? Are you looking forward to V Rising launch?

I think V Rising price is very reasonable for what it offers. It’s good to know that we’ll get DLCs instead of microtransactions 👍

It looks like the developers actually care about the quality of their game. I’m pretty sure it will be one of the best survival games in 2022!
