After being delayed from last year to March 2023, Questline and Awaken Realms have finally released a new video game into the Tainted Grail franchise. Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon is a single-player open-world RPG set in a dark depiction of the Arthurian legends, based on the critically acclaimed board game.

Story

After more than 1000 years after King Arthur’s death, Avalon is falling in despair as the legends and myths are falling. Its people are trying to find a new way of life and things to believe in. A Red Dead Plague and spreading Wyrdness are only making it worse. There are multiple factions with different beliefs and plans for the future. You are locked in a cell far below the ground, and no one knows about you. Break out and make your way up to the surface to change the future of this dark land.

What to expect

Explore the island without any constraints and discover quests, adventures, and secrets around every corner. Conquer the many dungeons, caves, and ancient ruins. 

Trade with different NPCs for useful items or gather them yourself in the wild. Mix the different ingredients to make helpful potions and food that will help you survive the harsh land and misty Wyrdness. 

Fully voiced Quests with NPCs who feel alive and have different stories to tell. The story changes depending on the choices you make, even if people are not happy with your decisions. 

Fight the way you want, and choose between multiple melee weapons, bows, and magic spells. Plenty of enemies to use them on.

A full day and night cycle will create the perfect gloomy and creepy atmosphere with a weather system to match.

During the early access launch, only the first zone of the game will be available called Horns of South which will have around 10 to 15 hours worth of content with the rest coming later on.

What the future holds

The early access is expected to last between 9 to 16 months. Some big features are planned to be released during this time.

A thievery system that will greatly improve the stealth mechanics of the game.

The option to dual-wield weapons and an improved melee combat system.

You will be able to own your own house.

New activities like gardening and fishing will be implemented. 

And of course the rest of the story content.
