Planet Crafter’s release smashed Miju Games expectations with a near 100% positive rating on Steam.
In light of this incredible launch, the developers at Miju Games have revealed their future plans for Planet Crafter. The steam post details what players can expect to see in the full release, as well as what won’t be added to the game. The goal is to release update 1.0 within a year or two with regular updates every few months.
So what can we expect to see in these next two years? According to the developers, they want to add at least four more terraforming stages, breathable oxygen, insects, fish, and amphibians. While some of these like insects are already in the game, this is in name only and does not do anything in the world.
The map will be at least 50% larger than it currently is, possibly adding new biomes as well.
While there is talk about adding procedural map generation, this will most likely be something they will be adding later down the line. At this point in time, they are unsure and will stick to the hand-crafted map we know and love.
More environmental threats are coming as well because 7 different kinds of meteor storms were not bad enough. At least we can drive away from all that danger when adding the new vehicle. This will most likely be something of a moon buggy.
The story will be completed as well and hopefully not every note will read “we did something and now we are getting pulled to this planet”.
Replayability is also something on their minds. However, what form this will take is currently unknown.
A lot of people would love for Planet Crafter to get a multiplayer feature and the developers have mentioned that adding multiplayer will most likely generate a lot of bugs so they want to work on the single-player first and may look into adding multiplayer in the future.
Miju Games has also confirmed a few features that will never make it to Planet Crafter. Big monsters/aliens and guns are some of them. To be honest, the last thing I want is to be chased by a giant alien during a meteor storm, so this might be a good call.
Interplanetary roaming and complex systems will also not be part of the game. Since the main goal of the game is to get this planet inhabitable, it would make sense not to move on to random other planets.
And as the last thing on their list, realistic nextgen graphics. I think we can all agree this is no big deal since the cartoony look gives the game some charm.
This is all the news Miju Games has given us currently.
What are you most excited about? What else would you like to see in the game?

It’s sad that we won’t be able to fight space creatures but how about alien mounts? 🧐
