Enshrouded Unveils 1.0 Release Along with an Exciting Roadmap for 2025

The upcoming biome sounds refreshing.

Keen Games just released a brand-new update for their survival-building game, Enshrouded. The Pact of Flame focuses on many requested social features and a lot of new items to decorate your town with. Alongside this, they also updated the roadmap for 2025 and revealed the release window for update 1.0.

Since the launch of the game early last year, players have been asking for a chat feature, as they could only communicate in multiplayer by placing small blocks and spelling words with them. The devs finally listened and went the extra mile by adding text customizations to make it easier to read, as well as a voice chat that is off by default and can be set to proximity or global. This is a great way to implement the feature, as the global option makes it easy to talk to a small number of players, while proximity is fantastic for large servers so you can still communicate without everyone hearing each other. A social tab has been added where you can see who is currently online in the world and what their location is, making it easier to find your friends.

Builders have been given some love as well. Over 70 new props are now available for crafting, along with the option to rotate them when placing and a first-person camera for easier placement. These decorations include an elegant leather sofa, large statues, sturdy doors, braziers, baskets, pots, buckets, and much more. You can also build using yellow stained-glass blocks and a new variant of the stone wall. Many of these recipes can be obtained by completing quests for a new villager, who you can invite to live in your settlement.

We can expect plenty more in the coming year. Some of the big updates will include a new water biome and a hollow expansion to the mountains, more weapons, and a system where you can customize them using gems. A jukebox will let you relax with some tunes or play instruments with your villagers, and more features are on the way. The developers also revealed the release window for the full version of the game, and it is sooner than you might think. In the spring of next year, we can expect a major 1.0 update.

What are you looking forward to the most in Enshrouded? Let me know in the comments.
