Studio Traptics has released their new post-apocalyptic strategy survival game Homeseek. Set 100 years in the future, where the planet has become a wasteland due to overpopulation and environmental exploitation. The resources you need to survive are scarce. Your goal is to create a city and help them survive on this barren planet and enemy forces, either solo against an AI or online where you can face other players.
Homeseek launches with two campaigns, which combined have nine scenarios. Starting with fresh survivors that just left the safety of a bunker to the empire you will create. Most sources of water have run dry and the surface world is not kind, providing you with little supplies and dangerous opponents. Each level can be played in the classic story mode that takes you through the battles that mankind faces. You will have to make difficult choices and face dangerous foes. Alongside the main quest line you follow in each level, there can also be random events and expeditions which expand on the narrative.

Besides story mode, there is also an endless mode, and a survival mode, providing players with dozens of hours of playtime. On top of multiple single player options, players can also go head-to-head in Homeseek’s online PVP mode. Multiplayer consists of a large survival scenario with up to eight players at once. Build up an army and raid your opponent of all their resources to starve them out before they do the same to you.

You have to build a variety of buildings to harvest the remaining resources. Depending on the placement of your workers, your city will be more efficient in gathering and transporting the materials around. Some buildings will have to be linked together for them to work. For example, a water extractor will need to be connected to a water collector, so you can store the water. In order to advance your settlement, you will need to increase your villager’s knowledge. You can do this by unlocking the research center and spent resources to unlock new weapons or structures.
Choosing what to upgrade or get first will be a crucial step in making sure your colony survives. Growing your city is important, but you will also need to be able to sustain the current population. Every survivor requires food, water, and a house on a daily basis, or else their happiness goes down. When this bar reaches below a certain point, that person will become depressed and will no longer perform any work. If the player does not improve their mode, they will abandon the settlement after a few days, leaving you with fewer workers.

During each campaign, the player can send out an expedition party. By roaming the land, they can find points of interest and set up outposts to gather more resources or an enemy camp.
Homeseek is available Steam for 24.99 USD.
