If you’ve been waiting for multiplayer in Forever Skies, you won’t have to wait much longer. While the 1.0 release has been slightly delayed to early 2025, Far From Home has confirmed that the co-op update will arrive this year.
The developers have been listening to player feedback throughout the early access period and have decided to implement several changes for the full release to address those concerns. You will no longer have to rely solely on the fabricator for some common craftable items. Instead, you’ll have access to a built-in suit fabricator, allowing you to craft certain items on the go.
The hand extractor is getting a significant upgrade: it will now be integrated into your suit during the tutorial, saving an inventory slot and recharging over time automatically. This isn’t the only tool receiving changes. Certain tools, such as the build tool, will become available earlier in the game, enabling you to expand your airship sooner. Basic resources will also be easier to obtain, as the developers noticed some players were struggling with shortages, which caused issues in extreme situations. Additionally, the ship workstation is being renamed to the ‘decoration fabricator’ and, like the build tool, will be available right after the tutorial.

Multiplayer is something the developers have been discussing since before the launch of Forever Skies. Originally slated for the first major update, it has since been delayed until further notice. Earlier this year, we learned that they plan to release co-op toward the end of the year. They recently confirmed that they are still on schedule, with the 1.0 update set to arrive in early 2025, alongside the PlayStation 5 release.
