Obsidian Entertainment released the sequel to Grounded almost a month ago, along with the first roadmap reveal. The game has been met with positive reviews, and the devs have now shared some exciting details about the two upcoming updates.
During Fall, we will be able to take on the first park boss. It will be a giant tarantula named Axle, a nod to the spider from the 1992 movie Home Alone. This terror of an insect is the largest creature we have seen so far. The sizes of the first game wouldn’t cut it anymore, now that you can ride buggies. The devs decided to make this spider over 16 times the height of the player. If that already sounds terrifying, they also mentioned we can expect even larger ones in the future. To battle this foe, you need to locate its lair and craft a summoning item. The fight consists of multiple stages and drops crafting components for a huge bow, armor, and a throne. The developers highly advise bringing friends or buggies along, with plenty of healing items, as this boss will be brutal.

In the Winter update, Grounded 2 will introduce a brand-new biome: the Garden. Here, you can find maze-like vegetable gardens, giant pumpkin patches, and a greenhouse that has its own sub-biome inside. It will be very humid in here; however, the devs have not stated how this will affect the player just yet. There is a bigger emphasis on human-crafted world design here, making it stand out from the rest of the nature-like areas. The Garden will also see the return of a fan-favorite insect from the first game. The ladybug is making a comeback and will join the roster of rideable bugs.
Which of these updates are you looking forward to the most? Let me know in the comments.
