Enshrouded jumped onto the survival RPG scene on January 24^th, 2024, and since then has garnered very positive reviews on Steam from over 38,000 players. While many players have loved the game, others have felt it needed more and the developers have released the roadmap for 2024 to give us just that. So let’s dig into some of the forthcoming features.

The Realm of Embervale was already pretty vast, but more adventure is afoot, with location improvements, a new Hallow Halls Dungeon, and even a new mountain biome to explore. World Quests are going to be re-playable, along with better quest sorting and even a new weather system.

With an ever-growing map, we have to be able to find our way around it, and so now we will be able to have nameable map locations and even name our different bases around the world. If you play with friends on your server, you will also be able to place multi-player pings, along with a slew of server gameplay settings, and even be able to make portals to other servers.

Rebuilding a destroyed world is going to take time, resources, and even a few helping hands. So we are going to get some Townsfolk NPC’s and Townsfolk pets. Together, we will have more trees to grow, animal farming, new building materials to gather, and the ability to build a little hobbit home with new round doors and round windows, along with furniture we can finally sit in and use, workshops that can craft from magic chests, potted plants, musical instruments, and even a new vanity system to truly make yourself unique. 

Embervale is still a dangerous place, so make sure to stay on your toes, as new foes are about to sprout up, along with new bosses, but they are tired of hanging out in the shroud, and you may come across enemy patrols looking for some action. But alas, even if you fall in battle, it will be possible to easily find your body, as you can now name your tombstones if so needed.

Enshrouded has always been a beautiful game, but it’s getting a bit of an upgrade with a new improved loot UI, performance improvements, and enhanced post-processing, all of which should allow us to get smoother frames when playing at higher frame rates. And even the ability to reassign your glider button and Steam Deck Support.

All of this and much more is right around the corner, as, even though an exact date for this update hasn’t been given yet, we do know that it will be out before the end of the month. Tell me which new addition is most exciting to you in the comments below.
