Nightingale Has Been Delayed to Fall, Alpha Test Launches in June

Get ready for the next playtest!

In a recent developer vlog, Aaryn Flynn, CEO of Inflexion Games stated that their highly anticipated survival game Nightingale has been delayed by a few months to Q4 2023.

The decision for the delay was made to further polish the gameplay and UI, and fix glitches that were found during the first playtest.

The main game is not the only thing that has been delayed, Nightingale’s playtest, which was scheduled for the end of May will now happen half way through June. The good thing is that the next beta test will be two weeks long instead of one, and the amount of players who can enter will be increased from 7000 to 10,000 – 12,000.

The developers also shared a few new additions to Nightingale. Besides some major graphical issues that have been fixed since the last test, new creatures have been revealed and most of them are desert dwellers. Amongst these animals are an elephant “Elephas”, scorpion, giant locust, and something that looks like a wolf combined with a bird.

Two other beasts, The Loporadan and a large bug, can be found in the swamp biome.

More information has been given on how workbenches are going to work. Depending on what you place around it, the work will get different buffs. Some will be positive like the whetstone trait, which makes it so when you craft bladed weapons they deal extra damage. Some can also give negative effects but no details have been given on what these will be.

Have you already applied for the Nightingale playtest, and what are your thoughts on the delay? Let me know in the comments.
