Planet Crafter and Satisfactory Inspired ‘Eden Crafters’ Enters Early Access

Withstand disastrous ecological events and terraform different planets.

Osaris Games is preparing to release its world-reshaping survival game, Eden Crafters. Drawing inspiration from fan favorites like The Planet Crafter and Satisfactory, the developers aim to take what made those games great and add their own unique twist.

In the game, you focus less on creating planet-wide changes right from the start. Instead, you gradually build up to this by purifying toxified lakes, replanting forests, reshaping the land, and eventually creating a breathable atmosphere. However, it won’t be as simple as you might think. Each planet has its own unique environmental hazard. Take Ocean World, for example: its moons create massive waves that will demolish your base if you’re not prepared. Upon release, Eden Crafters offers two planets to choose from when starting the game, which is Echo Prime and Ocean World, with a third releasing the following month, and more coming next year, all as free updates.

In order to accomplish a large task like this, you’re going to need resources. A lot of them. This is where drills and conveyors come into play. You can hook these up to the 17 different ore nodes scattered across the land, allowing materials to be automatically delivered to your chests or other machines. There are 28 machines available for crafting all the components you need, and a total of 12 terraformation structures you can place to help make the world inhabitable. Base building in Eden Crafters is very in-depth. Not only can you use premade shelters, but you can also place individual walls to make your home unique. A particularly welcome feature is the ability to reshape the terrain, letting you not only create rivers for water but also flatten out land for building-perfect for those who enjoy constructing mega structures.

At the start, the land is barren, and some areas are closed off due to toxic gases. There are caverns to explore, offering valuable resources and other secrets. To help you navigate the planet, you can build various vehicles. At launch, you’ll have access to three land rovers and two spaceships, allowing you to reach your destination quickly.

The developers plan to have update 1.0 ready next year, adding multiple new planets with unique hazards, more structures, biomes, and additional ways to automate. If this piqued your interest and you don’t want to wait for the full release, you’re in luck. You can play a free prologue to the game, titled Ocean World: Eden Crafters. As the name suggests, this is one of the planets you get to explore and terraform.

Eden Crafters is set to release on October 16th on Steam for $19.99.

If you’ve tried the game’s prologue, how do you like it so far? Let me know in the comments.
