After a recent delay, The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, an anime RPG based on popular The Seven Deadly Sins series, is ready to launch on Steam and other major platforms.
Fans of the anime series will find game’s story familiar. The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin is set 3 years after the main story and sends players into a timeline where past and future collide. You play alongside Tristan as the plot unfolds across 12 acts, and familiar places return in new forms. The story moves at a steady pace, but you can still explore and discover side content.
The game has something to offer for both solo players and those who enjoy co-op. At its heart there is a long form single player campaign that covers the new story acts and world events. Players who prefer company can join others in shared sessions to clear main quests, raid tough bosses, and move through dungeons together. Cross play works across PS5, Steam and mobile so friends on different systems can group up without hassle.
The combat keeps action at the center and characters can switch between weapon types on the fly so one fighter can shift roles mid fight. Tag based combos, counters, and a burst style meter open room for skill and team play. The system aims to make boss fights and dungeons a test of timing and coordination rather than just gear checks.
The game borrows familiar names and faces from the anime for fans to slot into their parties, including the chance to play alongside older heroes and the next generation. Tristan appears as the main playable lead and Meliodas shows up as a pick up character, each with their own unique skills in battle.
If you enjoy ranged combat, new firearms are part of the gear mix and appear alongside swords and magic based weapons. They can be crafted from field materials, upgraded and awakened to higher tiers, and sit inside the same progression systems as other arms. Firearms consume scarce resources so choosing when and how to use them matters, especially in group fights where ammo and upgrades affect strategy.
The developers have also planned launch gifts, timed bonuses and stream drops so new players can get a head start or earn event rewards during early days.
The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin may end up as one of this year’s most promising F2P titles. It will be available worldwide on Steam and PlayStation 5 on March 16, with mobile platforms coming a bit later on March 23.
