Merge Games has released a new patch for the tiny survival game Smalland: Survive the Wilds. Known as the Campsite update, this expansion adds a whole new location to explore. However, it’s not as cozy as the name suggests, as they added a new enemy and boss to battle, along with more armor and a new weapon.

The campsite can be found near the playground and desert regions. This location is filled with old giant artifacts, like broken tents, chairs, and campfires. The northern entrance to the desert also got some tweaks to better fit the campsite into the terrain. There is also a new NPC, the Prospector, researching this area, trying to uncover the mysteries it holds. The archaeologist has a few new quests for the player as they are in need of help surveying this dangerous place. To help you get back into the action faster, the devs added a system to choose between multiple respawn locations.

The new enemy roaming this location is a mouse. There are multiple variants but they will all be able to drop the same items which are their hide, fur, and some meat that you can use to cook. These new materials are used to craft the four piece rodent armor and a powerful rodent spear. You are going to need this new equipment as the mouse boss is one of the stronger creatures found in the game. However, if that was not challenging enough for you, there is a new event that starts when you try to incubate an infant mouse. If you manage to endure this battle, your reward is a strong tamed mouse you can ride that will help you survive in the dangerous wilderness.
