The moment we have been waiting for is upon us, as the Sunkenland v0.200 update has finally gone live, and with it comes the new Volcano Biome, a weapon salvaging system, and even dedicated servers.

One of the most exciting additions to this update must be the volcano region. The biome brings a big splash of color to the underwater world, with its bright oranges and reds peering through the water to make it easy to find. The bright colors might be very inviting, but get too close, and it will still burn you, and this hot new biome is the only area where you can readily find sulfur for harvesting.

Another addition is the ability to pick up broken weapons from downed enemies, disassemble them, and use the parts such as barrels, scopes, and even magazines to craft and build custom weapons. I can’t wait to see the possibilities it brings to the game.

Some new items available to us are SCUBA air tanks that allow us to dive deeper and longer, including fishing nets, bird traps, and even batteries. One of my personal favorites are the gun racks that allows to store and show off our custom weapons.

Some old POIS and areas got a bit of an overhaul; two in particular are Radio Island and the Mutant Settlement. Both have had their map sizes and complexity increased, providing a much improved combat experience. The dev team even stated that moving forward, future POIS will be more complicated and exciting to explore.

One of the reasons for the long wait for this update was the numerous problems with dedicated servers. Most of the core code and system structures had to be rewritten to ensure smooth server operation. However, they succeeded, so we should now enjoy a much more stable server experience with friends.

The only downside to this update is that previous saves are not compatible with this update, so you will have to start off a fresh new game to see all the amazing additions to the game.
