Survival Machine Introduces Long-Awaited Multiplayer Support

Survive the hordes together.

The Steam Next Fest is full of great surprises for survival gamers. Along with the many new games to play, a few older demos have received updates, and Grapes Pickers’ mobile base-driving zombie game, Survival Machine, is one of them. It adds a new enemy, character upgrades, more POIs, and the anticipated multiplayer mode.

The hard-coded time limit of around one hour has been removed, giving you more freedom to explore and build. In turn, you get to look around the Frontier, which acts as the first biome of the game. While this does not sound like a lot, it will take you a few hours, as there will be many obstacles blocking your vehicle along the way that you need to overcome, like landslides or a broken bridge that needs to be repaired. Luckily, you will not have to do this alone anymore, as you can now play Survival Machine with up to four players.

There are a variety of points of interest to explore along the path. There are large western-styled villages, apple orchards, windmills, and more. Getting around has been made a little easier; after crafting the appropriate tool, you can use the many zip lines found around the area. Alongside this, another quality-of-life feature they added was the ability to create more hotbar slots. In and around these locations, you will find zombies roaming around. Previously, there were two types: your generic zombie and an armored version, or as much as a bucket on their head counts as armor. In the new update, you will come across a new variant known as stinkers; these extra-smelly undead will chase you down and create a fart cloud when they get close.

These were all the new additions to the Survival Machine demo, and you can download it for free on Steam.

Are you going to try the demo alone or with friends? Let me know in the comments.
