After seven months, Awaken Realms has released a new cinematic trailer for Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon and confirmed that the game is absolutely not dead. In the trailer, we get to know more about the main character and his motives in the game, as well as a look at a scary monster.
Tainted Grail: the Fall of Avalon is a first person open world RPG set right after the Arthurian legends, a dark and gritty world where King Arthur has died and its people are losing hope and searching for new beliefs.
The game is being developed by Awaken Realms Digital, the studio behind the story driven roguelike deckbuilding game Tainted Grail: Conquest. Tainted Grail: the Fall of Avalon is a video game adaptation of the popular board game by the same name, which became the most successful Kickstarter in 2018, funding over 6.2 million dollars. However, even though it is based on the board game, this game will not have the same storyline and will not use the same main characters as the board game. Instead, this story will be set a couple of years before the events of the board game.

In Tainted Grail: the Fall of Avalon, you get to explore this vast dark, and gritty open world with monsters, legends, interesting locals, and a quest system with difficult moral questions that impact the story. With multiple factions to choose from and different choices to make during the quest, Tainted Grail: the Fall of Avalon has a lot of replayability.
If you want to see more about the game the developers have hinted that there will be more actual gameplay footage in the very near future.
Tainted Grail: the Fall of Avalon is set to release in Q4 of 2022. It will be released on Steam.

I’m really looking forward to this one. It reminds me of Skyrim and you will rarely see a new first person RPG. The horror elements are very welcome too.
