Witchspire Flies into Steam Early Access on June 10

Witchcraft meets creature taming in a new survival adventure.

Developed and self-published by Envar Games, Witchspire is about to arrive in Early Access, bringing a co-op open world experience that mixes creature collecting, base building, and magic.

The game starts with a simple setup, but the world around it offers a fair amount to do. Players awaken in a strange land and are guided by Cirrus as they learn how to gather resources, craft a sanctuary, and grow stronger over time. Rather than relying on standard survival rules, Witchspire gives players magical tools that change how they move and work in the world. Forests can be called forth when timber is needed, spirit jumping helps with reaching higher ground, and magical pickaxes can be sent out to gather resources. Hunger is not part of the challenge, but materials still matter because they support progression and make the journey easier.

In terms of taming, players can fight creatures, known as familiars, collect their spirits, and build long-term bonds that suit different play styles. That system ties into the survival loop, where each choice can shape how a coven develops. The game also adds a home building layer that uses astral projection to free players from gravity while they design a base for their group. On top of that, the world is not entirely safe, with falling meteors, ancient creatures, and the corruption beneath the surface.

The game includes 4 difficulty options, ranging from Easy and Standard to Hard and Impossible, with the last mode removing familiar respawns and forcing players to drop all items on death.

It’s worth noting that the game is built with co-op in mind, where servers are hosted by one player. A server can support up to 6 players, but the developers recommend 4 player co-op because hosting can be demanding on PC hardware.

The current Early Access version will include character customization, base building, creature collection, and skill systems, along with multiple biomes to explore. Envar Games says it hopes to keep Early Access as compact as possible and expects the phase to last at least a year, with a roadmap due soon. The full release is planned to expand the world further with new creatures, spells, story content, and a larger space to explore with friends.

Witchspire will launch on June 10 on Steam at $22.99 or €22,99, with a 15% discount available at release.
