Zombie Survival Game Online Adds World Customization Settings

Create a dangerous or a more relaxing zombie apocalypse.

Zombie Survival Game Online has just released their March update for the game, bringing the current version to 0.4.8.0. The update has been presented as “The Customization Update”, so let’s take a look at what it’s all about.

With the addition of the World Setting Manager, we will be able to control such things as player settings to allow PVP, or PVE, whether you will keep your loot upon death, and even game play modifiers like increasing or decreasing damage, stamina usage, hunger, thirst usage, and raid settings.

Loot is another setting that can be controlled via the new management system. Do you want to get more loot or make it harder with less loot? The next setting is the weather setting; the name is a little misleading as it doesn’t actually affect the weather in the game but rather time. You can set how short or long the days or nights are, or even if time progresses or not, or even make it continually, day or night, you can do it all.

One thing that’s in the World Setting Manager is the AI Spawn setting. Though, it’s greyed out and not yet implemented. Once implemented, you will be able to change zombies, animal spawns, and even what type of zombies spawn in an area. You can fiddle with it right now if you are industrious enough to know how to edit the JSON file, or you can follow this video.

Quest lines and rewards have been reworked to benefit new players by teaching them some core game mechanics, and now you can choose to accept or pass on a quest, and only accepted quests will be entered into your quest journal.

Resource nodes have been rebalanced, so instead of finding nodes randomly around the world, they will be more strategically placed. Also, a new resource node called Radium has been added. You will be able to identify it by its green-colored shards, but be warned: even if you find it, there will be obstacles you will need to overcome before you can harvest it.

Lastly, a ton of various bug fixes have been implemented, along with UI improvements that offer a smoother experience and some performance enhancements that solve some crashes and optimize game performance.

Have you played ZSGO? What are your thoughts on the new additions to the game?
