Astrolabe Interactive Inc. has revealed the launch window for a new update for the demo of their island-riding survival game Aloft. This new version will bring fluffy friends, character customization options, and new models.

Animals will inhabit the islands

The new demo will add Four different animals for players to find and care for. These include sheep, goats, alpacas, and pheasants. These cuddly little beats can be petted and fed, making them happy. They will also provide the player with new resources. The sheep can be sheared for wool, and the pheasants will drop their feathers occasionally. You can feed them straight out of your hand or build a trough and fill it with food. The new items also have their own storage box you can build. The shears can also be used to shape flags and banners. The animals will also leave some manure behind for the player to use in making compost for the gardens. Pheasants will also make nests around the island and produce eggs. There will be two types, a blue-cracked egg which is a fertilized egg and will hatch a new bird over time. The beige-colored egg can be used in cooking as it is not fertilized.

Animals can only die of old age so for those who do not want to babysit them you are in luck. Feeding, loving them, and giving them a large space to roam around in does make them happier which in turn gives you more resources and produces them faster. They can however be wounded or get infected by the corruption.

Wanna look stylish on your own private floating island? In the new demo, you will be able to play around with many different hair and beard styles.

You are not the only one who got a good trim in. The new tree models have been finished and will replace the placeholders in the coming update.

Future content

The devs gave an update on the multiplayer of Aloft. The building is now synchronized and everything seems to be going well. 

Some new concept art shows us what the upcoming research lab looks like. This workstation is used to identify a cure to stop the corruption by using fungal fibers. When researching you can find different stains which you can turn into experimental fungicides. When you go out on your next adventure take this with you and use it on the corruption to see what happens. Take the new examples with you back to the research lab and slowly create the cure.

The new demo version for Aloft will be available towards the end of June 2023.
