Ancient Marsh Tribe Arrives in Aska

The world just got bigger with new creatures, both hostile and friendly.

Tis the season for major updates, and this one slides down the chimney and lands in Aska. The patch expands the game with new enemies, creatures, systems, and improvements.

One of the most notable additions is a new farm animal, the Kyckling, a large, flightless bird found in the Marsh Islands. Kycklings can be trapped using bait and transported back to a settlement, where they can be housed in the newly added Kyckling Pen. When both male and female Kycklings are present, they will breed and produce offspring. Adult Kycklings generate eggs over time and can also be harvested for meat and feathers, providing a renewable source of food and crafting materials.

The Marsh Islands themselves have received a major expansion with the introduction of a new enemy faction, the Marsh Tribe. This group consists of lost Norsemen who have formed a hostile society centered around worshipping a monstrous entity. They occupy the Marsh Islands and are described as heavily armored warriors who incorporate materials from the creatures they fight into their gear. Despite their altered appearance and beliefs, they remain dangerous human enemies and are typically encountered in groups.

At the center of this expansion is a new boss encounter, the King Crawler. Unlike other bosses in ASKA, the King Crawler resides in the ruins of an abandoned settlement and is defended by Marsh Tribe warriors. The encounter emphasizes preparation and crowd control, as the boss is supported by numerous servants during the fight.

Defeating the King Crawler unlocks the ability to summon a new golem type, the Mud Golem. Golems have been further specialized with this update. While the existing Crystal Golem continues to function as a general laborer and crafter, the Mud Golem is optimized for agricultural and forestry tasks, including animal care and farming.

The update also introduces several quality-of-life improvements. The marker system has been reworked into a single customizable marker that allows players to assign multiple resource types within one radius. This change reduces map clutter and simplifies settlement management. Additionally, new map filters and radius indicators have been added, allowing players to clearly see marker coverage and toggle resource collection directly from the map.

With all these new additions, exploring Aska during Christmas is going to be fun.
