Deep Field Games Introduces Vandalism to Abiotic Factor

No cash, no problem!

Deep Field Games has released a new update for Abiotic Factor, which introduces a variety of features, including new difficulty settings, check-in terminals, deployable items like aquariums and hazard fridges, as well as upgrades for the Platform Cart.

You can select difficulty settings at the start of your playthrough or adjust them anytime during the game. There are three modes: Normal, Hard, and Apocalyptic. Normal mode offers the default experience with a slight reduction in difficulty. If you find the game too easy, you can switch to Hard or Apocalyptic modes, which present a significantly greater challenge compared to what you’re used to in similar games.

At the beginning of each sector, you’ll find a newly added check-in terminal, allowing you to save your progress and respawn at that location if you die. This is especially useful in harder sectors where the risk of death is high.

The update also introduces several new deployables. For example, the large aquarium allows you to store caught fish and keep them fresh, as long as you remember to power the aquarium. Another useful addition is the hazard fridge, which blocks radiation from hazardous items stored inside when opened. To prevent food decay, you can now store it in a freezer.

Additionally, the Chef’s Counter has received a long-awaited upgrade that allows it to support item transportation. Meanwhile, the Platform Cart can now be upgraded into either a Hazard Cart, for carrying radioactive materials, or an Aquarium Cart for fishing expeditions.

Your Office Crossbow has a new damage type thanks to the introduction of Acid Bolts. With the crossbow’s new reload wheel, you can quickly switch between ammo types. Acid Bolts corrode armor and deal damage over time, making them especially effective against heavily armored foes.

Deep Field Games continues to enhance the Jobs system by adding XP bonuses to specific jobs based on their primary skills. For example, as a somatic gastrologist, you gain 50% Cooking XP, while an Archotechnic Consultant gains 50% Construction XP.

If you are desperate for some food, you can now smash the vending machine and enjoy the goods. Just don’t forget that you won’t be able to buy any of the delicious snacks once you do.

Abiotic Factor has brought a lot of exciting content in the last major Crush Depth update, and this update is a nice addition to everything we’ve gotten so far.
