Since the game’s announcement in early 2025, Enjoy Studio has been working on launching Everwind into Early Access on Steam, and that day has come. The teams say the core systems are ready for players to test and shape, marking the start of a development period that will be guided by community feedback.
Everwind places you in command of a flying island ship, letting you move between floating landmasses while building and maintaining a mobile base. The game combines role playing, sandbox survival and voxel building with co-op for small groups, where players gather materials, craft equipment, unlock abilities and explore varied dungeons. Because the world is procedurally generated, each journey can lead to different locations and encounters.
Interest in the project has been building since the initial announcement, when the game was named SkyVerse. It drew a lot of attention after Hytale was canceled by Riot Games. According to the publisher, Everwind has now reached close to one million wishlists ahead of launch, putting it among the most visible upcoming titles on Steam.
In Everwind, progression is tied closely to both exploration and preparation, with combat encounters appearing across open areas and enclosed dungeons, where enemies guard loot and resources needed for upgrades. Outside of fighting, players can reshape parts of the environment through a destructible voxel system. Crafting also extends into alchemy and gear upgrades, giving players more control over how they approach different situations.
Movement through the world is not limited to simple travel between islands. Weather and altitude are expected to play a larger role over time, with future updates set to expand higher level zones and introduce new challenges tied to vertical exploration. The planned airship updates suggest deeper control over how ships are built, upgraded and used in travel and survival.

Looking ahead, the developers have outlined a steady flow of updates throughout 2026, with larger additions are expected to focus on systems such as skill trees, AI behavior and village interactions, alongside dedicated server support. Smaller updates will introduce new enemies, weapon types, gameplay modes and story content. The order of these updates may shift depending on how players respond to the current version.
Early impressions suggest a game that leans toward structure while still leaving room for creativity. Clear progression systems sit alongside open ended building, giving players both direction and freedom. Everwind starts with a solid foundation, and its long term appeal will likely depend on how well future updates expand on that base.
The Early Access version of Everwind launches at 24.99 dollars or 24.99 euros on Steam, with a limited time discount available at release. A Capybara Edition is also available, offering a range of cosmetic items such as themed armor sets, furniture and interface skins. These items are currently exclusive to the Early Access period. The developers revealed that the game will launch on consoles at a later stage of development.
