Far From Home, developers behind the popular survival game Forever Skies held their first “Ask Me Anything”. They received way more questions than expected and will split the AMA into multiple parts. This week, they answered 25 of the most asked questions and here’s what you need to know.
The developers have revealed that major updates will be released every 3–4 months, with smaller hotfix patches in between. Since the game is all about curing diseases, more of them will be added over the course of the early access. The current health system will be getting a rework in the near future, but no info has been given on what they will change.
They also want to add more points of interest and potentially even different biomes. One of the new locations will sit at the top of the dust layer, and will be similar to the under the dust areas, where it’s hard to breath.
Gardening is a much-requested feature, and the devs are working on some indoor farm designs. There was also talk of an outdoor farm for other plants, however, they are not sure if that will be added in the gardening update or later down the line.
New dangers will be added to Forever Skies, both above and below the dust. We got a sneak peek at something called the “floating plants” which cover an area in the sky, damaging your airship if you fly too close.

Building modules for the airship that look less square will be added in the future. Some people requested a feature to flip or invert objects, but these will most likely never be added due to the amount of bugs they produce. Neither will there be an option to build on the points of interest.
Character progression, bigger air tanks, or armor are ideas that sound interesting to the team but are not on the priority list. Different types of crossbow bolts however are, this alongside your knife will be your only weapons to fight the enemies out there. That is not to say other items can’t help out in combat. Some boosters will enhance the player, helping you survive dangerous battles.
4 player co-op has been on the priority list for a long time now. While the devs are working hard on the multiplayer feature, they are unsure when this will be done, as they want to release it in its best state.

A creative mode will be added during the early access period, along with a much-requested option to remove the HUD.
There are currently no plans to add VR, but the devs are open to the idea, If this were to happen they would do it after the game is feature complete.
The console release for Forever Skies is on the schedule but will not be released before the PC version leaves early access, which will take at least another 12 months according to the developers.
Implementing the Steam Workshop is something the devs really want to do, but are currently not sure on how to implement it into the game.
Part 2 of the AMA is expected to be released next week.
What are you looking forward to most? Let me know in the comments.
