Forever Skies Reveals First Gameplay Footage of the Underdust Biome

Delving beneath the Dust.

“Emergency landing procedure” is blaring over the loudspeaker as a torrent of rain is falling hard through the polluted green skies of Earth, battering your airship in the sky as it nearly gets struck by lightning. That is how the release date trailer for Forever Skies begins.

The newest trailer lets us see more of the core mechanics that lie within the game. So, let’s break it down.

First, at its core, Forever Skies is a survival game, so we see some of the necessities you need to build in order to survive, such as water collectors for collecting polluted rainwater and then purifying it, passive traps to catch insects, and birds to cook up for supper, all of which are built on the airship, which is your movable base and your life line above the Dust.

It is completely customizable and appears to be built in sections. Once you place your engine and cockpit, you can add walls, floors, windows, observation decks and customize it all with paints, so what your ship looks like is completely up to you.

Forever Skies

Spin up your 3D printer to create weapons and tools such as knives, crossbows, etc. Much of the terrain in the Underdust will be more confined but can be interacted with, and you must find creative ways to access restricted areas of the map, such as dislodging a ladder with your crossbow or clearing overgrown vegetation away with your knife. All the while trying not to suffocate as air is limited and the oxygen generators shown need specific items to make them work, so keep an eye out for key ingredients.

Below the Dust you will also discover alien creatures and vegetation that you need to analyze to find out how to defeat them or how to use them to overcome greater threats.

With each new trailer, we learn a little bit more about what awaits us in the game.
