Forever Skies Unveils More Exciting Things About the Upcoming Update

New dangers are coming to the skies.

Far From Home is working hard to deliver new content for their open-world airship survival game Forever Skies. This time, they’ve answered more player questions and revealed what we can expect in the upcoming update, as well as future implementations.

Currently, the game has a handful of locations the player can visit, each with a variety of alternate versions to keep exploring fresh. The developers stated these points of interest will receive a few more variations alongside all new areas to explore. The new buildings will slowly come out over the early access period as they contain the story of Forever Skies. Over the course of your adventure, the environment and locations will be slightly changed. Do not expect to rid the planet of the biological disaster, however, as your main objective on Earth is to find the cure and help humanity survive.

Rearranging your airship will become a lot easier in the future. The studio is working on a system that allows players to pick up a full storage container without having to take any items out and move it to a different location. Currently, they are not sure when this quality-of-life feature will make it into the game, as it creates a lot of bugs that have to be ironed out.

A lightning rod has been prototyped and might make it into the game as many fans requested this item. The developers are always looking at what decorations and other buildings people want and incurious their player base to send them any ideas they think would fit into Forever Skies.

Far From Home’s next big priority is adding new “threads” to the world. This is done in the form of different viruses, enemies, and a picture they showed where a tower seems to be infected by something.

The main dangers in the game come from these diseases, weather disasters, and very little combat. Therefore, the developers did not want to include any more ranged weapons unless it could serve some other gameplay function. This does not mean we won’t see an update to ‌combat. The crossbow will get different bolt types and might become upgradable.

Andrzej Blumenfeld the CEO of Far From Home also addressed the lack of accessibility options, stating they are working on allowing the players to resize the hud and add more languages among other features.

The difficulty system will be refined, adding more complex features to impact the different difficulty levels, besides draining hunger and thirst faster.

They also reassured fans they are still working on adding multiplayer to Forever Skies, but don’t have any concrete release date yet as it is taking more time than expected.

The next major update is set to be released in October, adding new viruses and expanding the story. We can expect more details next month as they launch a new monthly video series where they go over what the team has been up to.
