Palia has added mounts with the launch of its Royal Highlands expansion, giving players a new way to travel through its growing world. The release also lands at a major moment for the free to play game, which has now passed 10 million players worldwide.
Royal Highlands is being introduced as Palia’s largest zone yet, with rolling fields, old world style, and plenty of new things to discover. Horses sit at the center of the update, and players can now rear and raise their own mount on their ranch before riding across the new region. The expansion also adds new story quests, guide quests, discovery quests, and a fresh set of accomplishments for players who want more to chase.
The new area is filled with hidden treasures, campsites, vaults, Royal Amber, and new gatherables, minerals, trees, insects, fish, and creatures. A new villager also joins the world, while utility arrows, potions, and a campfire cooking set with 10 new recipes give players more tools to work with as they move through the Highlands.
Home building and customization get a noticeable boost in this update. Players can use the Ancient Human Home Line, unlock a third story upgrade, and make room for more items with the new Jadium storage tier. New decor sets, including Rococo inspired pieces, Teatime Decor, and more Fancy pods, bring a more elegant look to interiors. Clothing Dye and Tint options have also been expanded, giving players more control over how they present their character.
To go with the expansion, Palia has also launched a 10 Million Player Celebration Event. Daily quests can now reward up to two free premium Mystery Outfits, alongside event exclusive rewards such as plushes, decor, and a nameplate. A limited time discount on the Starter Pack and Founder’s Pack is also available as part of the celebration.
Looking ahead, the Royal Highlands update opens the door to a set of seasonal content planned under Sunkissed Summer. The team is keeping some details under wraps for now, but it has already teased new content, progression changes, and more surprises tied to the Year of the Riffroc.
